KISD Dream Team

Dream Team RelayMembers of the Killeen ISD Dream Team took the state stage by storm earlier this month, showcasing their track and field talents by running, jumping and throwing to a trove of medals and lasting memories at the 2026 Special Olympics Texas Summer Games in Melissa.

“Throughout the competition, they showed tremendous determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship in every event,” said Kevin Lanxon, Dream Team coach KISD’s director of special education human resources and related services. “Our students were honored to represent Killeen Independent School District.”

The two-day event at Melissa ISD’s Kenny Deel Stadium on May 1-2 was full of strong performances and all-out effort by KISD’s crew of athletes.

Dream team Long JumpAmong 23 medals earned, Chaparral High School’s Kamylah Martinez Batiz and Ellison’s Noah Marsh came away with the Dream Team’s gold. Martinez Batiz took first in the 400-meter run while Marsh crossed first in the 100. The shining results also featured two silver medals from Harker Heights’ Ali Green in the standings long jump and Chaparral’s J'aire Saulsberry in the softball throw.
